After the trip to Bourke 16 of us moved into four apartments at Kangaroo Point Holiday Apartments. Marius, Martin, Kristina and I quickly found out that we don't have a lot of things that others do have, for example washing mashine, dryer, dishwasher, bigger bedrooms, bigger refridgerator (three mini shelves for four people is way to little), one or more balconies (I love to take my tea or coffee outside), bathtub (lovely on a lazy night) etc. Not everyone else has all of these things, but we don't have any of it. And everyone pays the same! If I didn't know that the others had more I wouldn't have been so disappointed, because of course it isn't a bad apartment at all. The staff even comes and cleans it and make our beds every Friday. Here's Kristina when we arrived:

It's good to stay at the same place for a while. We can unpack our bags, we can wash our clothes, we can make our own food instead of getting crappy BBQs and white bread, like in Bourke. Aussies seem to love white bread more than anything else:
The water here has a strong taste of chlorine. It's like drinking straight from a swimming pool. Either you have to get used to it, or spend a lot of money on bottled water. But I bought lemonade to mix with water from the tap. The cheapest method and it makes me drink more because it tastes good (lemon and lime). Water is my best friend in Australia!
There are actually two swimming pools here. I'm not very sporty, but whenever I have a swimming pool nearby I go swimming every day, at least 1000 meters. Because I like it. And who doesn't wanna get in a good shape for the beach? Last Saturday was a great day for using it. See my cool new flag towel:

The major problem here is that I don't sleep well because of the loud traffic noise. I wake up several times a night. Earplugs don't help much because they fall out while sleeping. Closing the window doesn't help either, because it still sounds like it's open. People living in the apartments here make a lot of noise too, especially kids early in the morning. Can't get mad at them for that, they're only kids, but I'm that kind of person who doesn't like it when other people wake me up unnecessarily. One has to show some respect for neighbours who want to sleep longer than till 8-9 in the morning. I'm never going to live in a city, that's for sure!

Kristina was allowed to borrow a guitar (and a skateboard) from a friend till we leave Brisbane:

The nearest McDonald's is located on the other side of the street. An easy night meal:
