Because we deserve it

Imagine that you're far, far away from home, in a foreign country, without your best friend(s), mom and dad, brother(s) or sister(s), maybe even boyfriend or girlfriend. You miss your house or apartment at home, maybe a dog too. All your belongings are stuffed in a suitcase or a backpack. You have to share a small room with somebody else. Maybe you stay in a shabby hostel with 19 others in one smelly dorm. The food doesn't taste like you're used to. The weather is different. The official language is your 2nd, 3rd or 4th language, or you don't speak it at all. You might feel homesick. You might feel alone. Just imagine. What would YOU do?
